About the course
This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and is spilt into two pathways:
- Social Care
- Learning, Development and Support Services
- Who is it suitable for? Anyone who works or wants to work at a supervisory level in the children and young people’s workforce.

- You will be awarded with level 3 diploma in children and young people’s workforce.
- Learners may progress to Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (90 credits) or a Foundation Degree.

- Supporting Teaching and Learning Workers - who visit families of pre-school children at home

- Children and Families Social Workers
- Registered Managers of Children's Homes, plus Deputy and Assistant Managers

- How is it assessed? It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.
- Where will I study? classroom, via distance learning or blended.
